Every Great Education Starts with a Foundation
CREST Collaborative relaunches the Building Blocks Early Childhood Center — and is now accepting students.
There's a moment in every child's life where something clicks. A connection sparks. A hand reaches out to a friend for the very first time. These are small moments - but they're the ones that shape everything that follows.
At CREST Collaborative, we've spent years learning what it takes to help students succeed across every stage of development. From elementary through adulthood, across six distinct programs, we've built something we're proud of: an organization where every learner has a place.
Now, we're bringing back one of our most important offerings - and we're ready to welcome new students.
Building Blocks Is Back
The Early Childhood Center (ECC) has been one of CREST's most impactful programs — and we're excited to bring it back. Building Blocks is designed for young learners who need more than a traditional preschool setting can offer. That includes children with autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, communication needs, medically complex conditions, and traumatic brain injury - but it also includes any young child whose path to learning simply looks a little different.
Because here's what we know: the right support, at the right time, changes trajectories.
Built Around How Children Actually Learn
We didn't design Building Blocks around a textbook. We designed it around children.
Every child who walks through our doors is recognized as a unique individual — with their own interests, their own pace, and their own way of making sense of the world. Our approach combines a developmental philosophy with specialized, evidence-based interventions, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), to create a learning environment that feels less like therapy and more like childhood.
Play. Discovery. Social interaction. These aren't just enrichment activities here - they're the curriculum.
Everything we do is organized around four developmental pillars:
Social: Building meaningful connections with peers and adults, because learning doesn't happen in isolation.
Cognitive: Nurturing curiosity, problem-solving, and the confidence to explore new ideas.
Language: Strengthening communication and expressive skills so every child has a voice.
Motor: Developing both fine and gross physical coordination, from stacking blocks to running across the playground.
A Team That Gets It
Great outcomes don't come from a single approach or a single person. They come from a team.
Building Blocks brings together an extensive group of on-site professionals who work collaboratively around each child. BCBA clinicians develop and oversee individualized behavior plans. Speech therapists and occupational therapists work side-by-side in the classroom. Physical therapists address coordination and movement. And for students who need it, a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is part of the team as well.
Together, they develop customized treatment plans built around each child's Individualized Education Program (IEP) - with both long-term goals and short-term wins designed to foster real independence.
What Families Can Expect
Building Blocks isn't a drop-in or a daycare. It's a full educational program, operating Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at our campus in Andover.
Every child receives a comprehensive behavioral assessment to identify specific strengths and areas for growth. From there, the team builds a plan targeting the skills that matter most — functional communication, daily living skills, social integration, and adaptive behavior.
The goal isn't just progress on paper. It's a child who is more confident, more connected, and more ready for what comes next.
Why This, Why Now
CREST has always believed that there's a place for every student. Building Blocks is what happens when you take that belief and apply it to the very beginning - the years when the foundation is being laid for everything a child will become.
We've seen what this program can do. We've seen the connections it builds, the confidence it unlocks, and the trajectories it changes. That's why we're bringing it back - and why we're now accepting students.
Because every great education starts with a foundation. We're here to help build it.
